Welcome to BuyJacksonFirst.com, the website for Buy Jackson, Inc.  You want to know a secret?  We're all about promoting Jackson, Mississippi, and we're going to be fairly shameless about it.

And you're right, that's not really a secret, but for now that'll have to do.

As for telling secrets and rubbing fur the wrong way, that's not what we're about.  This isn't that kind of website.

Fact is, there isn't anything wrong with those towns around Jackson.  Some mighty fine people live there, and we count quite a few of them as friends. Some of them we're even related to, but let's don't belabor that point.

Anyway, where were we?....

Oh yeah.  Jackson.  This is about the City of Jackson, and we want to make a case for shopping here, and doing business with us, and living here.  We've got some good neighborhoods -- come take a look sometime, if you don't already live here.  Or work here.

Be glad to hear your comments or suggestions.  But keep it clean, okay?

Jam, y'all.  This one was dedicated to the kids.  Your webguy and his squeeze made the Friday night performance of The Black Crowes, and they were plenty good.

Maybe you should know, your webguy has never been this old before, and sometimes he's surprised at just how much water trickled under the ol' culvert when he wasn't looking.  Can I get an amen to that from the Amen Corner?

Anyway, when I was at the Jam, I looked up and suddenly realized I was the resident geezer, and man there were a lot of young people there.  Got to say, they looked like they were in their element, and there's nothing wrong with that.

The pictures below do not belong to us and we're not going to pretend they do.  Nice though.  Which is why we're using them in the first place.

Above is an artist rendition of the proposed new Farish Street.  We have a lot of money on tap to devote to this project, and while it's slow work, progress is being made.

The Alamo Theatre.  As it is today, and looking very much as it did in the dim and distant past.  In the not too distant future, the neighborhood around it will catch up, then things will really start humming.

Believe it, babies.

Who is Renee?  Well, pardner, she's the lady who makes Buy Jackson, Inc., go.  She's the spark plug that fires up the machine, she's the reason we're sitting here using the editorial we and writing this stuff.

Renee Shakespeare

For several years Renee put together a radio program for W****.  While it was cerebral, it was a bit of fun, too, and appealed to a wide audience.  Did I get this right, Renee?

Seriously, though, Renee has already proven she will work hard for the City of Jackson, and she deserves your support.  You get a chance, talk up this town in a positive way -- she's certainly said enough good things about us.
